Valletta brought Birkirkara’s 10-match run without a defeat to an end, taking all three points on a 4-0 result.

Valletta managed to take the lead on the 22nd minute. Off a cross by Uchenna Calistus Umeh, Fredrico Falcone beat goalkeeper Justin Haber from close range.

It did not take long for Valletta to double their lead. Romeu Romao served Roderick Briffa to have the latter release a powerful shot to beat the Birkirkara goalkeeper and make it 2-0 on the 34th minute.

Birkirkara tried to react and get back into the match, but they did not pose any real threat to the Valletta side.

The match went from bad to worse for Birkirkara when on the 59th minute Valletta were awarded a penalty. Birkirkara’s Mauricio Mazzetti brought Njongo Priso down inside the area and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot.  The Cameroonian made no mistake from the penalty spot to make it 3-0.

In added time, Valletta scored their fourth of the match when substitute Jean Borg beat goalkeeper Justin Haber with a low shot from the edge of the area.
