Hibernians took the lead on the 35th minute when Sliema’s goalkeeper, Guiseppe Sarao, brought down Renan Pimenta Telles Fown inside the penalty area. From the resulting penalty, Failla made no mistake.

On the 45th minute, Sliema were close to equalise. From an ideal position, Peter Xuereb fired a shot that went wide of the post.

Eight minutes into the second half, Alex Muscat attempted a shot from distance that was saved by Hogg.

Few minutes later, Sarao was alert to deny Kristensen. The 23 year old fired a shot that was well saved by the Sliema goalkeeper.

In the remaining minutes, Hibs managed to hold firm to take home their first three points. On the other hand, Sliema are still looking for their first points in the premier league.

The match was controlled by Alan Mario Sant.
