St. Andrews went in front after five minutes. From a corner on the right flank, Paz delivered towards Godwin McKay, who slotted the ball past Haber.

Floriana responded on the 10th minute when Nicolas Chiesa fired a shot from distance that forced a good save from Jake Galea.

Jake Galea was alert to deny Floriana once again on the 23rd minute. From a free kick, Maurizio Vella sent a cross that found Amadou Samb. The Floriana striker fired a header that was saved by Galea.

Giovanni Tedesco’s side kept pushing for an equaliser with another chance on the 26th minute. Enzo Ruiz fired a shot from distance that went inches wide of the post.

Floriana equalised one minute into the second half when Fontanella received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, and fired a shot that gave Galea no chance.

On the 56th minute, Fontanella was close to double the score for Floriana when he went through on goal. However, Galea made his presence felt, and produced another good save.

The greens kept on dominating the second half and were close again on the 66th minute. From a corner, Steve Pisani delivered a cross that was met by Pepe. The centre back headed towards goal, but his effort went slightly over.

Floriana’s efforts paid off ten minutes from time. Steve Pisani received pass from the left flank that found him unmarked at the edge of the penalty area. The twenty four year old fired a stunner that ended up behind Galea to put Floriana ahead for the first time.

The greens managed to put the game beyond doubt on the 90th minute after Samb was played through on goal by Alex Cini. The Senegalese player went round Galea and placed the ball at the top of the net.
