Ħamrun Spartans come from behind to beat St. Andrews

Despite going a goal down, Ħamrun hit back through Massimiliano Giusti and a double from Haruna Garba to earn a 3-1 win over St. Andrews.

On the 33rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty for St. Andrews following a foul inside the penalty area. From the spot kick, Joseph Farrugia converted.

Ħamrun levelled the score on the brink of half time when Haruna Garba’s cross found Massimiliano Giusti who fired a low strike past Jake Galea.

The Spartans went ahead on the 56th minute. Haruna Garba received the ball on the left before advancing into the penalty area and chipping the ball past the St. Andrews goalkeeper.

On the hour mark, Garba made it 3-1 for Ħamrun. Jake Grech sent a cross towards the Nigerian striker who fired home from close range distance.
