Balzan bounced back from their defeat against Birkirkara with a 3-1 win over Ħamrun Spartans.

Balzan went ahead on the first minute. Alan da Silva Souza went past his marker and hit a shot that ended up behind Matthew Farrugia.

Souza was unlucky not to double the score a minute later. The Brazilian striker went inside the penalty area and fired a shot that hit the post.

Balzan doubled the score on the 26th minute when Bojan Kaljevic went inside the penalty area from the left flank and finished past Farrugia.

The Spartans had a good chance to reduce the margin of the score on the 37th minute. Saturday Nanapere sent a cross inside the penalty area that found Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza. However, the Ħamrun striker fired high.

Despite losing this chance, Ħamrun managed to score on the 42nd minute. From a corner, Leandro Motta sent a cross inside the area that was met by Patrick Jean Teixeira Maia whose header hit the post. From the rebound, the same player finished inside the net.

Balzan scored their third goal on the 63rd minute. Paul Fenech delivered the ball towards Alfred Effiong, who scored from close range distance.
