Hibernians  made up for their first round loss against the Spartans by recording a convincing 4-1 win.

Hibernians went ahead after eleven minutes. Bjorn Kristensen sent a pass towards Jurgen Degabriele who fired a strong shot that gave David Cassar no chance.

The paolites doubled the score nine minutes later through Kristensen.The midfielder won the ball after a defensive mistake and finished inside the net.

Ħamrun tried to hit back on the 23rd minute when Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza fired a shot that was neutralised by Andrew Hogg.

Three minutes later, Andrew Cohen found Degabriele who forced a good save from David Cassar.

Hibs scored their third goal on the brink of half time. Philip Chircop brough down Renan Telles Pimenta inside the penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot. From the eleven metres mark, Clayton Failla made no mistake and finished past Cassar.

The Spartans reduced the margin of the score on the 55th minute. From a free kick, Jake Grech sent a shot that took a deflection before settling in inside the net.

At the closing stages of the match, Hibernians scored another goal when Cassar fouled Johann Bezzina inside the penalty area. This time it was Cohen who took charge of the penalty and placed the ball inside the net.
