In Glasgow, two goals from Lionel Messi gave Barcelona a 2-0 win over Celtic.

Besiktas 3 – Benfica 3

Benfica managed to build a three goal lead in the first half as Gocalo Guedes, Nelsinho and Ljubomir Fejsa were all on target. However, Besiktas equalised in the second half with three goals scored by Cenk Tosun, Ricardo Quaresma and Vincent Aboubaker.

FC Rostov 3 – Bayern Munich 2

FC Rostov managed to register a surprising win against the German giants. Douglas Costa put Bayern Munich ahead after thirty-five minutes. The Russians equalised nine minutes later through Serdan Azmoun. Dmitry Poloz managed to put FC Rostov ahead, but Juan Bernat equalised. Christian Noboa scored the winning goal for FC Rostov.

Arsenal 2 – Paris Saint Germain 2

In a balanced match, Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain played out an entertaining 2-2 draw between them. Edison Cavani managed to put the visitors ahead, while Oliver Giroud equalised. The Gunners went ahead on the hour mark when Marco Verratti scored an own goal. The French side equalised thanks to an own goal scored by Alex Iwobi.

Ludugorets Razgrad 0- Basel 0

Ludogorets Razgrad and Basel failed to find a way past each other as the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The Ukrainians managed to hold Napoli in a goalless encounter played in Italy.

Borussia Moenchengladbach 1 – Manchester City 1

In a match which involved a red card for each side, Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Borussia Moenchengladbach. Raffael opened the score for the Germans on the 23rd minute, but David Silva scored the equalising goal for Guardiola’s men.

Atletico Madrid 2 – PSV Eindhoven 0

Kevin Gameiro and Antoine Griezmann were on target as last year’s finalists overcame PSV Eindhoven at the Vicente Calderon stadium.
