Enmy Pena Beltre’s late goal in the game rescued St. Andrews as Doncic’s side earned a 1-1 draw against Tarxien Rainbows.

Tarxien went ahead on the 19th minute. Alex Da Paixao Alves went on the left side before delivering an excellent pass towards Emerson Marcellina. The Brazilian headed the ball towards the unmarked Julian Galea who hit a low shot past Jake Galea.

On the 32nd minute, St. Andrews had a chance on goal when Kyrian Nwoko won possession outside the penalty area and fired a shot that sailed wide of the post.

Four minutes later, it was Ponce De Leon of Tarxien who attempted a shot from distance. However, Jake Galea was on the alert and neutralised his effort.

St. Andrews were unlucky on the 38th minute. Following a cross from the left flank, Ziga Kastrevec saw his header ending up slightly high.

The Rainbows had another opportunity on the 65th minute. Alex Da Paixao Alves sent a cross towards Ponce De Leon Garcia who in front of Jake Galea failed to make proper contact with the ball.

On the 75th minute, Dale Camilleri of St. Andrews attempted a shot from the edge of the penalty area that went high.

Tarxien had an excellent chance to make sure of the three points on the 79th minute. Galea sent a through ball towards Da Paixao Alves whose shot was well saved by Jake Galea.

St. Andrews lost a golden opportunity a minute later. Matthew Tabone brought down Ivan Paz inside the penalty area and Malcolm Spiteri pointed towards the spot. However, from the eleven metres mark, Joseph Farrugia hit the woodwork.

Pena Beltre managed to equalise for St. Andrews in the additional time given by the referee. The Dominican footballer saw space and fired a stunning shot from outside the penalty area that gave Andrea Cassar no chance.
