Floriana went ahead after just five minutes. Ħamrun’s defence remained static and Amadou Samb anticipated Fredrick Tabone and finished inside the net.

Two minutes later, the greens had another great opportunity when Ignacio Varela went inside the penalty area and hit a low shot that was saved by Tabone.

The Spartans hit back on the eleventh minute. Jake Grech sent a cross from a free kick that was met by Leandro Wallace Motta Dos Santos who headed slightly wide.

Ħamrun nearly equalised two minutes later. From a corner, Jake Grech delivered the ball inside the penalty area towards Luke Grech. The latter sent a header that hit the post.

On the 15th minute, Justin Haber produced a good save to deny the Spartans. Jake Grech hit a volley from the edge of the penalty area which Haber manage to tip behind.

The next chance on goal came for Ħamrun on the 48th minute. Jake Grech hit a strong shot from a free kick that went high.

Floriana doubled the score five minutes later. Following a free kick, Mario Fontanella sent a cross inside the penalty area which Luke Grech deflected inside his own net.

Giovanni Tedesco’s side increased the margin of the score on the 58th minute. Tabone brought down Maurizio Vella inside the penalty area and Malcolm Spiteri pointed towards the spot. From the resulting spot kick, Nicolas Chiesa made no mistake and finished inside the net.

Two minutes later, the Spartans replied with a goal. The ball was delivered towards Patrick Jean Teixeira Maia who hit a low shot past Haber.

On the 65th minute, Floriana managed to make the score 4-1. From a free kick, Vella fired a shot which Fredrick Tabone failed to hold. Rebound fell for Enzo Ruiz who slotted the ball inside the net.

Ten minutes from time, Vella of Floriana hit a shot which was neutralised by Tabone.

Floriana scored again on the 88th minute. From a corner, Vella sent a cross inside the penalty area towards Ruiz who headed past Tabone once more.
