Balzan lost a golden opportunity on the 13th minute. Alan Da Silva Souza went through on goal, but wasted the opportunity as he over hit his pass towards Kaljevic.

Birkirkara responded on the 19th minute. Srdan Dimitrov served Matthew Guillamier, but the latter failed to make the most out of the situation as Ivan Janjusevic made a good save.

Janjusevic denied Guillamier once more on the 36th minute. The Birkirkara midfielder fired a shot from distance which Janjusevic managed to save.

Oliver Spiteri’s side hit back two minutes prior to half time when Ryan Fenech delivered the ball towards Matteo Piciollo who fired a strong shot that hit the side netting.

Balzan went ahead on the 65th minute. Piciollo went inside the penalty area and was brought down by Joseph Zerafa. Alan Mario Sant ordered a penalty and Kaljevic made no mistake as finished past Henry Bonello.

The stripes equalised ten minutes later. Malan sent a pass towards Andelkovic who hit a low shot that gave Janjusevic no chance.

On the 90th minute, Birkirkara were denied by the post. Cain Attard fired a shot from outside the penalty area that hit the woodwork.
