An early goal scored by Miguel Angel Alba paved the way for a 2-0 win in favour of Birkirkara as the stripes keep hoping for a place in Europe.

Birkirkara started on the attack and took only eight minutes to break the deadlock. Srdan Dimitrov went on the left flank and delivered a cross that was met by Alba who headed past Argyrs Roppas.

On the 41st minute, Birkirkara went close again. Cain Attard sent a powerful drive that forced a spectacular save from Pembroke’s goalkeeper.

Nikola Jaros’s side kept insisting in attack and created another chance on the 66th minute. Substitute Edward Herrera fired a shot that ended up slightly wide.

Pembroke responded on the 69th minute. Andrea Scozzese saw space and hit a shot that went high.

Birkirkara sealed the issue on the 90th minute. Herrera sent a cross towards the unmarked Gonzalo Malan who headed home.
