Hibs started the match on the attack and nearly forged ahead after just two minutes. Jurgen Degabriele’s angled shot was met by Taylon Nicolas Correa Marcolino who failed to place the ball inside the net from close range. From the rebound, Tiago Adan Fonseca saw his effort hitting the upright.

Degabriele threatened St Andrews again on the 9th minute. After receiving a cross from Joseph Mbong, the young forward finished over.

The Paolites remained on the offensive and created another chance on the 39th minute. Fonseca drilled an angled shot that went slightly off target with Matthew Calleja Cremona beaten.

Stefano Sanderra’s side started the second half where they left off the first as they remained offensive. In fact, minutes into the second half, Correa went round two defenders, but finished over.

On the 65th minute, Dunstan Vella bursted through the penalty area and hit a shot that was blocked by Calleja Cremona.

St Andrews finally hit back on the 78th minute. Kemar Reid fired a powerful shot that was pushed away by Andrew Hogg.

However, Hibs scored the opening goal two minutes from time. Fernando Tenorio lobbed the ball in the direction of Correa who blasted the ball home.

Hibernians sealed the issue during the additional time given by the referee. Correa played Degabriele through and the latter went round Calleja Cremona and finished inside an open goal.
