Pieta’ breathed a sigh of relief as they secured their first win of the season following a 3-1 victory over Mosta.

Pieta` forged ahead on the 33rd minute. Shunsuke Nakamura hit a thumping shot that gave Andreas Vella no chance.

Ramon Zammit’s side doubled their advantage two minutes later. Nakamura’s cross was met by Antonio Orlando de Queiroz Macedo Neto who headed the ball home.

Mosta had a golden opportunity to pull one back on the 41st minute. Christian Grech handled the ball inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. However, Falou Ndiaye Samb saw his shot from the eleven metres mark being saved by Nicky Vella.

Despite losing this penalty, Mosta pulled one back through another penalty on the hour mark. Ose Takaki floored Samb inside the penalty area and the referee signalled for the second penalty of the match. This time, Alessio de Cerchio stepped up and converted.

Pieta` sealed the issue on the 86th minute. Paul Chimezie went forward on a good run before placing the ball inside the net.
