Mosta made a flying start to the match as they forged ahead after just four minutes. Juri Cistotti delivered the ball towards Renan Abner de Oliveira who placed the ball inside an open goal.

Their enthusiasm didn’t last long as Sliema equalised on the 12th minute. Jefferson de Assis saw his effort being blocked by a defender. Rebound went into the path of Mark Scerri whose stunning shot gave Andreas Vella no chance.

Sliema scored the winning goal on the 69th minute. Abner de Oliveira floored Claudio Pani inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the elven metres mark, de Assis made no mistake.

De Assis could have scored again from the spot on the 82nd minute as the Welsh referee awarded Sliema another penalty since Tyrone Farrugia handled the ball inside the area. However, the Brazilian failed to hit the target from the eleven metres mark.
