Hibernians were awarded a penalty four minutes later. Taylon Nicolas Correa Marcolino was floored by Brandon Bartolo and the referee pointed towards the spot. However, Andrei Agius saw his shot from the eleven metres mark being saved by Fgura’s goalkeeper.

Stefano Sanderra’s men doubled their advantage on the 33rd minute. Marcolino drilled a low shot from the edge of the penalty area that ended up inside the net.

Hibernians made the score 3-0 on the 54th minute. Dunstan Vella won the ball on the edge of the area and fired a volley that gave Bartolo no chance.

Fgura were reduced to ten men on the 69th minute as Andrew Scicluna was shown a straight red card.
