Mosta were coming from a narrow win over Gudja last Wednesday that enabled them to move momentarily away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Tarxien only managed a draw during the previous round. Unless they make drastic improvement, the Rainbows will get relegated at the end of the season.

Tarxien managed to convert their first chance in a goal after ten minutes. Matthew Tabone received the ball from Daniel Zerafa and fired a first-timer that that deceived Andreas Vella.

Mosta equalised on the 18th minute. Zachary Brincat went through on a fast counter attack before hitting a low shot past Matthew Towns.

Mark Miller’s since forged ahead on the 23rd minute. Dexter Xuereb’s free-kick sailed past Towns.

The score became 2-2 on the 32nd minute. Andrejic fired a shot from an angled position that went inside the net.

Mosta went ahead once again two minutes from half-time. Xuereb served Brincat who placed the ball home from close range.

Mosta sealed their win with two more goals during the second half.

On the 48th minute, it was Weverton Gomes who finished inside the net after receiving from brom Brincat.

Four minutes later, Weverton managed to score again as his shot from outside the penalty area went past Towns.

This was Mosta’s second consecutive win and thus they moved further away from the drop zone.

On the other end, things look desperate for Tarxien as the Rainbows look destined for the First Division following a number of years inside the Premier League.
