The training camp is being organised in Lithuania by the European Triathlon Union for young athletes hailing from the developing countries in the sport. The participants will train in a professional way under the guidance of some of the best youth coaches on the continent.

This will be the second year running where promising Maltese triathletes sharpen their skills in such training. Last year, Hannah Pace underwent similar training and she has since formed part of the National Triathlon Team thereafter.

Shaun Galea, one of the partecipants confessed that ' opportunities like this make all the sacrifices and all the difficult moments of training worthwhile. With this great opportunity given to me by the Malta Triathlon Federation Im ready to grasp all the knowledge about all three sports from the great coaches which will be coaching us and also from all other triathletes which will be attending the development camp.

I would like to thank the Malta Triathlon Federation for helping me improve in the sport that I Love'. on a similiar note, Nina Zammit mentioned that ' I feel very excited about spending these days completely focused on training with athletes from different countries. I expect to learn a lot from the guidance and the sessions with international coaches and to improve by training with athletes who have more experience. I also hope that the friends I make in this camp will be my future competitors in international events.'

'We are very excited for Nina and Shaun, as we are aware that this will be a golden opportunity not only for themselves, but also for the local Triathlon community', said Cyprian Dalli, President of the Malta Triathlon Federation.

'The European Triathlon Union (ETU) is really supporting our Federation to develop and achive new standards and this support is particularly aimed at the grassroot level, to sustain young talents and help them fulfil their potential. This partecipation together with the support and guidance in our increasingly-popular Malta Youth Triathlon Academy - MYTA is a clear indication of how the ETU has the development of young triathlon talent in Malta at heart' concluded Dalli.
