‘Allo ‘Allo! TV star Gordon Kaye dies, aged 75

The actor, who is best known for his role on BBC television series 'Allo 'Allo! died at a care home, his former agent has said

Gorden Kaye, the best known for playing cafe Rene Artois on the popular television series ‘Allo ‘Allo! has died at a care home at the age of 75, his former agent has told the BBC.

Kaye was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, and started his career playing Bernard Butler in the soap-opera “Coronation Street.”

He went on to play a number of other roles including on Till Death Us Do Part, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum and Are you Being Served?

Kaye appeared in all 84 episodes of the programme and also starred in over 1,200 performances of the sitcom’s stage version.
