Malta Philharmonic Orchestra unveils 2026/27 season at the Grand Master's Palace

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its 2026/27 season, featuring a programme of challenging works from the classical repertoire alongside the launch of a renewed visual identity.

The launch took place at the Grand Master's Palace in Valletta on Friday. The new season will feature works by composers including Mahler, Bruckner, Shostakovich, Beethoven, Strauss, Tchaikovsky and Respighi, with the orchestra describing the programme as a step towards greater musical complexity, scale and ambition.

The MPO said the season will bring together leading conductors and soloists alongside its own musicians, with the programme intended to offer audiences a broader engagement with orchestral music.

The season launch also marks the introduction of a new visual identity for the national orchestra.

The MPO said the rebranding was intended to reflect an orchestra moving forward while retaining the experience, identity and musical legacy built up over the years.
