Youth, 19, hospitalised in Żabbar traffic accident

A 19-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Ħaż-Żabbar on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said they were informed of the incident at around 5:15pm in Triq Latmija. Officers immediately went to the scene, where preliminary investigations showed a collision had taken place between a Hino Dutro driven by a 32-year-old man from Ħaż-Żabbar and a Suzuki GSX motorcycle ridden by a 19-year-old man from Birkirkara.

A medical team was called to the site and an ambulance took the motorcyclist to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
