Two men have been arrested in St Julian’s in connection with alleged drug trafficking after being found in possession of various types of drugs.

Police said the arrests followed surveillance carried out earlier on Tuesday.

During routine patrols, officers noticed the men acting suspiciously while inside a Toyota Vitz. They were stopped in Triq Portomaso, where a search was conducted.

Substances suspected to be cocaine, heroin and cannabis were found, along with an amount of cash and several mobile phones.

The men, aged 26 from Żurrieq and 23 from Senglea, are being held at the police lock-up in Floriana while investigations continue.
