Woman seriously injured after falling from second-floor window

A 53-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after falling from a second-floor window at a residence in Birżebbuġa on Thursday morning.

Police said they were informed at around 7:45am assistance was needed at a residence in Triq il-Qajjenza.

Officers immediately went to the scene, where preliminary investigations indicated the woman had fallen approximately two storeys from a window.

Members of the Civil Protection Department, together with a medical team, were called to the scene.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

She was later certified for her injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
