Three men arrested in separate drug trafficking investigations
Cannabis resin and ecstasy pills seized in separate drug arrests
Three men have been arrested in two separate police investigations into alleged drug importation and trafficking.
Arrests saw the seizure of drugs in possession of the individuals.
In the first case, two Italian nationals, aged 22 and 19, were arrested after police carried out a controlled delivery operation. The operation followed the interception of a suspicious parcel sent from Spain through the postal service.
Police said the package contained 1.5kg of suspected cannabis resin. Further searches at the residence where the two men were living led to the discovery of additional suspected drugs, along with items allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
In a separate investigation, a 21-year-old Maltese man was arrested after officers allegedly found him in possession of 170 suspected ecstasy pills, as well as substances believed to be cocaine and psychedelic mushrooms, which police said were intended for trafficking.
All three men are expected to be arraigned before Magistrate Kevan Azzopardi at around noon today.
Police investigations are ongoing.
