Sliema necklace thief jailed for four years
28 year-old career criminal from Bormla admits to Sliema necklace snatch-and-grab, and a long list of other charges was jailed for four years today.
Leandross Cutajar, 28 of Bormla was jailed for four years this afternoon, after he admitted to last week's daring theft of a necklace from a woman's neck in Sliema, and a series of other thefts in other localities.
Cutajar was arrested soon after a CCTV video recording of his aggression on the Sliema woman was posted on YouTube, and identified by a viewer.
He was also charged with criminal association and theft of thousands of euro's worth of money, jewellery and other objects from a residence in Zabbar, causing wilful damage to private property.
Another charge regarded the theft of a stereo from a car in Fgura, received stolen goods and of relapsing.
Inspectors Carlos Cordina and Saviour Baldacchino prosecuted.
