Arraigned for theft on his birthday

A 61 year-old man from Gzira was remanded in custody on his birthday after he could not find a third party to act as his guarantor for bail.

Emmanuele Magro of Gzira, will spend his 61^st birthday in prison after he could not find anybody to act as his guarantor for bail.

Magro was charged with stealing an iPhone and a wallet from a parked car in Gzira, belonging to Lisa Darmanin Demajo.

The theft was recorded on CCTV camera from a nearby store.
