Court orders ship owners to pay crew €230,000 in unpaid salaries

The First Hall of the Civil Court has ordered that the owners of a Panamanian-flagged gas tanker currently undergoing repairs at Palumbo Shipyards, to pay its crew the sum of €230,000 in unpaid salaries.

 

Judge Mark Chetcuti, presiding over the First Hall of the Civil Court has ordered the arrest of the Panamanian-flagged gas tanker M/V CGM Tiger, belonging to Italian firm Cryo Gas Med, until it settles unpaid salaries to its crew.

The court ruled that the ship owners must pay the sum of €230,000 in unpaid salaries.

Should the owners not comply with such an order, it reserved the right to take further action.
