A 64 year-old man from Zejtun was handed a two year jail term, suspended for four years after he was found guilty by Magistrate Audrey Demicoli of masturbating in front of two girls aged 11 and 12.
It was the girls who reported the accused Emanuel Bonnici to the police, when they noticed him behaving strangely while they walked on the rocky beach close to the former Jerma Palace Hotel in Marsascala.
Bonnici denied masturbating, insisting that he had a problem with his bladder and needed to urinate.
His version however, was not believed by the court who handed the suspended jail term, and ordered that Bonnici be put on the Sexual Offenders Register.

It's a good job he wasn't smoking a joint at the same time, for he would have been put away for twenty years.
