Jailed three years, fined €2,000

Magistrate Marsann Farrugia this morning jailed George Vella, 39 of Cospicua for three years, and fined him €2,000, finding him guilty of trafficking in heroin.

Vella was arrested in April 2008, and found to be in possession of three sachets containing heroin.

He admitted to be selling the drugs to sustain his habit, adding that he sold an average of 16 doses a day.
