Tunisian pleads with Court: 'I'm a young man who wants a decent life like others'

23 year-old Tunisian national Hamdi Nehmawi was handed a two-year jail term by Magistrate Gabriella Vella this morning, after he pleaded guilty to escaping from the Hal Far migrant detentention centre.

"I'm a young man who wants a decent life like others," the Tunisian told the Court through an interpreter.

He added that he has been held in detention in just a room with four other men. "I only see the four walls everyday and speak to no one," he said.

thinkahead, perhaps you should consider substituting the 'n' with a 'c' and dropping the middle 'a'. That would be more representative of the person making your comment.

@thinkahead what an absolutely idiotic comment. you're the same one who left an equally pathetic comment below the Chinese brothel article earlier, I don't know why people like you even bother to comment if you have nothing constructive to say. as to your alias, you can't even think, let alone think ahead
