Paul Salomone, a one-time member of the defunct Alleanza Nazzjonali Repubblikana (national republican alliance) was acquitted of inciting racial hatred.

Salomone was charged under arrest in June 2006 with inciting racial hatred during a speech at an anti-immigration protest march, organised in Valletta by the right-wing ANR.

In his judgement, Magistrate Giovanni Grixti ruled that that there was nothing in Salomone's speech that day, which could be considered as inciting racial hatred.

Lawyers Michael and Lucio Sciriha together with Michael Tanti Dougall appeared for Salomone.
