Woman assaulted and robbed at home

Preliminary investigations found that the woman, 53, was laying her bed when she heard her dog barking. She subsequently went to feed it when she was assaulted by an unidentified man.

The robber continued to drag the victim into the bedroom, where he demanded her money. When she replied that she did not have any, the man angrily ripped her shirt before overturning the wardrobe and pulling out the drawers.

As he was doing so, he spotted a purse, from which he stole about €400 and fled through the back garden, through which he had entered.

The woman was found to be under shock.

Further investigations are underway while several experts have been appointed to assist with a magisterial inquiry.
