Court orders warrant against M/V Alakam

Mr Justice Mark Chetcuti issued a warrant of prohibitory injunction against M/V Alakam, in view of outstanding debts the vessel has with The Yacht Shop Limited.

The company filed against Comino Channel Shipping Limited, as owners of vessel M/V Alakam, after services rendered onboard the vessel remained unpaid. The Yacht Shop Limited claimed that the defendant owed the sum of over €7,100 for services provided between April and July 2013.

Considering all evidence exhibited by the plaintiff, Judge Chetcuti ordered that no sale or leasing of MV Alakam is allowed. Moreover, no mortgages may be registered over any share of the vessel nor can deletion certificates be issued in the same regard.
