Jewelry thief remanded in custody

The accused was charged with the aggravated theft of cash and jewelry from two residences in Mosta in 2013

A 43-year-old Fgura man is being held in preventive custody after he was arraigned before Magistrate Anthony Vella on charges of theft and dealing in stolen goods.

Inspector Carlos Cordina arraigned Mark Zahra under arrest and charged with the aggravated theft of cash and jewelry from two residences in Mosta during the evening of 14 September 2013.

Zahra was also charged with causing voluntary damage to one of the residences and with being a recidivist.

Zahra pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
