10 persons arrested in drug bust

Ten people were arrested during a police drug raid between yesterday and today, the police said, while refraining from mentioning the location.

Three women and seven men, aged between 18 and 35 were arrested, with police confiscating 200 grammes of cannabis resin, 100 grammes of cannabis, about 70 ecstasy pills, 30 grammes of cocaine and €2,000 in cash, along with other items connected with drug trafficking, such as an electronic balance.

The police added that a Peruvian man, holding a Spanish passport, who is resident in Malta, will be arraigned in court later today on charges of trafficking of cannabis  and cannabis resin, and with aggravated possession of cannabis, cannabis resin, cocaine and ecstasy.

The police said it is continuing with its investigation into the other persons arrested in connection to the drug find.
