Three men arrested on drug charges

Three men have been arrested on drug charges in the last 24 hours.

Drugs Squad officers arrested an Eritrean, 34, upon his arrival in Malta from Pozzallo early yesterday morning after having been found in possession of three kilogrammes of khat which, the police said, were ready for trafficking. The man was also carrying a substantial amount of cash.

Later that morning, the Drugs Squad together with the Rapid Intervention Unit arrested another two men during a raid in Marsa, after seizing 41 sachets of cocaine and heroin. The police said that these sachets were also ready for trafficking.

All three are being held for further investigation.
