Sicilian man seriously injured following assault with sharp instrument

A 22-year-old Sicilian man walked into St Julian’s police station this morning, asking for assistance after he was allegedly assaulted by a man wielding a sharp and pointed instrument

A 22-year old Sicilian man has suffered serious injuries caused by a sharp and pointed instrument, following an argument with another man in an apartment early this morning.

Police said that, at around 6am, the man walked into the St Julian’s police station, where he asked for assistance.

Officers at the station noted that the man was bleeding and called for an ambulance to take the man to Mater Dei Hospital. Preliminary investigations found that the man had had an argument with another man in an apartment on Triq Forrest in San Giljan.

The Sicilian claimed that the other man had attacked him with a sharp and pointed weapon.

At the hospital, the man was immediately examnied by attending doctors who certified the man as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty Magistrate Monica Vella was informed of the case and appointed a number of experts to assist in the inquiry.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
