Man admits to stealing cash from care home

He was given 30 months within which to repay the stolen money

A 57-year-old man from Marsa has pleaded guilty to stealing €5,000 from a care home in Cospicua.

Raymond Bonnici was arraigned before magistrate Josette Demicoli by Inspector Mario Xiberras today, charged with theft aggravated by value and place.

Bonnici admitted the charge and was handed an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for three years.

He was also given 30 months in which he is to repay the stolen money.
