Gonzi: country must focus on economic success it has achieved

The Prime Minister has pledged that the Marsaskala family park will be completed by 9 March.

The park is located by the Sant Antnin recycling plant.

Lawrence Gonzi told voters at an activity at Villa Arrigo in Naxxar, that his party had weathered many storms, both locally and internationally.

"Naturally, mistakes were made, but the clock cannot be turned back now."

Gonzi, who was earlier yesterday in Berlin where he met German chancellor Angela Merkel, said his counterpart had praised Malta on its successful management of the economy.

"We need to continue on this current course of liberal economic policies... we will strive to offer the most efficient energy policy possible, but the keyword is sustainability. Without this, there is no point in offering lower tariffs as it will only lead to problems further on down the road."
