Krista Pisani elected vice-president of European Democrat Students

Krista Pisani has been elected vice-president of the European Democrat Students (EDS), the largest political student organisation in Europe and the student wing of the European People's Party (EPP).

Pisani, who was nominated by the Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM), secured the second-highest number of votes among the candidates during the EDS elections held in Warsaw, Poland, on Saturday.

She previously served as SDM's secretary-general and now joins the EDS executive as one of its vice-presidents for the coming term.

During the same election, Italy's Francesco Sismondini was confirmed as EDS president after serving in the role for the past two years.

SDM congratulated Pisani, Sismondini and the newly elected EDS executive, wishing them success in their work over the next two years.

The organisation also thanked Chayenne Riolo for her service as EDS vice-president during the past two years, having represented SDM in the role.
