The Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil today filed a libel suit against the Labour Party and lodged an official complaint with the Broadcasting Authority over an electoral TV spot aired on national television.

The PN took umbrage at the TV ad produced by Labour on the direct orders awarded to opposition leader Simon Busuttil under the previous nationalist administrations.

Busuttil has already filed a number of lawsuits against Labour officials and its media over claims that he benefitted from €1.5 million direct orders because he was close to the Nationalist Party.

While calling on the Broadcasting Authority to pull the “manipulative” TV spot, the PN reiterated its challenge to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to open an investigation if he believes that the direct orders were irregular.
