Gozitan dies after finding himself in difficulty at Dwejra

The accident happened yesterday afternoon. At around 6.15pm, Gozo’s Health Authority informed the police that a person had required assistance at the Dwejra Bay.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 60-year-old man encountered difficulties whilst swimming. He was given assistance from passers-by, whilst an ambulance took the man to the hospital.

Unfortunately the man died.

Police investigations are ongoing. An autopsy is expected to be carried out today.
