New Liquigas green regulators as from next week

Liquigas announces that Liquicontrol regulator will be available in Malta as from next week, replacing previous versions of the regulators.

Liquigas says the new Liquicontrol regulators are “fully compliant with European standard EN 12864.”

These will be available from Liquigas resellers (listed on www.liquigasmalta.com), and at the Liquigas office in Qajjenza by not later than Friday 30th September. Replacements will be free of charge.

Last month, the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority ordered the recall of the TPA Butane LR2522 and Liquicontrol Malta regulators (photos above) as these were found to pose a serious risk to consumers.

The LPG supplier said that it would be announcing the availability of the new regulators through the media in the coming days.

It added that “although no leakages or issues of compatibility were reported, Liquigas Malta Ltd insisted with its Italian manufacturer, Lagoplast, in releasing an upgraded version.”

It reiterated that the new version “will meet all European standards and ensuring that the highest levels of quality and safety are met.”

Liquigas told the public that anyone in possession of the previous version of the regulator can go to any of the shops listed or to Liquigas office at Qajjenza, and exchange - free of charge - their Liquicontrol regulator with the New Liquicontrol one.

It also referred to how last month (August), the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) recalled two brands of regulators: the blue TPA Butane LR2522 regulator (with a red button on the knob), and the current Liquicontrol regulator.

The supplier as said that “no action was as yet reported by the importers on the TPA regulators.”
