Alex Borg submits PN leadership nomination
Alex Borg must obtain more than 50% of the votes cast to be confirmed as leader
Alex Borg has submitted his nomination for Nationalist Party leader uncontested, meaning his election will now be put to a secret vote by the party’s General Council.
Borg must obtain more than 50% of the votes cast to be confirmed as leader.
On Wednesday, the PN announced Borg was the only person to submit a declaration of interest for the post of party leader.
Voting will take place on 15 July between 12:30pm and 6pm at the PN headquarters in Pietà, and between 12:30pm and 4pm at the party’s Gozo sub-headquarters in Ta’ Sannat.
The PN Electoral Commission said early voting will also be held on 8 July between 4:30pm and 8pm in Pietà, and between 4:30pm and 7pm in Gozo.
Council members unable to vote on either day may also cast their vote on 11 July between 9am and 8pm in both Pietà and Gozo.
