John Summit no longer headlining BBC Radio 1 Dance Malta event

John Summit will no longer headline BBC Radio 1 Dance’s event in Malta due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The announcement came just over a week before the event, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 22 August.

Alongside Summit, the BBC event was set to bring artists including Bebe Rexha, Jonas Blue and Linska to Malta’s UNO club.

Tickets were initially sold for €33, while VIP tickets cost around twice as much.

Following the announcement, disappointed fans flooded the comments demanding refunds, with one user asking: "How does your headliner cancel a week before and not offer a refund?"

Another said he was travelling from the Czech Republic specifically to see Summit perform and expressed disappointment that no refund option had been offered.

The BBC, however, said that while it understood fans’ disappointment, the event would still be "a brilliant night with an amazing line-up."
