OPM, Labour, Transport Malta communications teams see summer reshuffle
Samuel Lucas appointed OPM head of communications, replacing Edward Montebello who is set to head the PL's communications team. Montebello would be replacing Norma Saliba, who is said to be moving to Transport Malta
The communications team behind the Office of the Prime Minister and Labour Party is undergoing a summer reshuffle.
On Monday, the OPM announced that Samuel Lucas was appointed as its head of communications, replacing outgoing chief, Edward Montebello. Lucas will begin his new role on 7 September.
Lucas, like Montebello, is a former ONE News journalist who has been working with the OPM’s communication team for the last two years.
The OPM thanked Montebello for his previous work and wished him well in his future endeavours.
MaltaToday is informed that Montebello will take on the role of communications chief within the Labour Party, replacing Norma Saliba.
Saliba, a former TVM head of news, was appointed as the head of the PL’s communications in 2024 after she lost out by a razor-thin margin against Alex Sciberras in the race for Labour President.
Before running for the role, she was the head of the Centre for Maltese Language.
Sources close to the PL told MaltaToday that Saliba is now slated for a communications role within Transport Malta.
