Man charged with raping minor

A man from Paola was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to the rape and indecent assault of a 14 year old minor.

The man - who's name cannot be published by court order - was charged by Inspector Jason Francis Sultana, for having abused the girl for over a year.

Investigations into the case revealed that the accused allegedly used to take the girl for drinks in various Gzira bars every Sunday afternoon, get her drunk and abuse her.

Lawyer Robert Abela appeared for the accused.
