Should I stay or should I go?
Should I stay or should I go?

Just over half the respondents in MaltaToday's latest online poll believe PN leader Simon Busuttil should stay on as party leader despite suffering a bruising defeat at the polls.

50.9% of respondents said Busuttil should stay on and become bolder in changing the PN’s policies and positions while a further 7.1% said he should stay on but resign before the 2018 election.

In recent days PN supporters and analysts called for Busuttil’s head after yet another harrowing defeat at the hands of Joseph Muscat’s Labour, with the PN losing the European elections by 13 points.

However, a stoic Busuttil has insisted he would not jump ship but instead redouble his efforts to transform the party into a winning one within four years.

1,379 respondents or 40.4%, however disagreed with Busuttil and his supporters and said the PN leader should resign.

1.6% of respondents submitted other answers, which for various reasons cannot be reprinted with the exception of few forgettable existentialist observations.
