169 irregular immigrants repatriated in past two years

169 undocumented migrants have been repatriated to their countries of origin, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela revealed.

Responding to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici, Abela said that 71 of these migrants were repatriated in 2013, while 98 of them were repatriated in 2014. None of these immigrants had a refugee status in Malta, and Abela said that the figure doesn’t include those immigrants who were repatriated voluntarily.
