Call for applications for police constables opens

At present, the estabilishment of the Police Force has reached over 2,100 members, the highest in the last five years.

A new call for recruitment for police constables is currently open. The Malta Police Force is accepting applications at the Human Resources Office at the Police General Headquarters in Floriana.

Minister Carmelo Abela said that today’s call for appliciation will engage around 100 new constables. In the past two-and-a-half years, this is the third recruitment within the Force in the rank of constables. In the past two occassions, 229 new constables were recruited.

Abela notes that this investment in the human resources of the Police Force shows government's commitment to continue strengthening the security of the country.

At present, the estabilishment of the Police Force has reached over 2,100 members, the highest in the last five years. Currently, there are approximately 1,050 police officers stationed around the Police Districts in Malta and Gozo and around 1,135 officers in various specialised squads.

Abela encouraged those candidates interested to build a career within the Police Force to apply and recalls that the duties of the police require determination and loyalty to serve the country.

During this call for recruitment, the selection process will be divided into three parts; physical efficiency, interview and medical examination.
