Customs officials yesterday evening seized a combined amount of €25,990 in two separate cases where passengers attempted to smuggle the cash without declaring it.

Customs officials on duty at the Departures Lounge at the Airport seized the €12,000 in access from a male Maltese passenger bound to Istanbul.

Another €12,990 in undeclared cash were seized during a routine screening on targeted passengers arriving to Malta on a ferry from Sicily.
